Building Your Mix

  • Use headphones to fully experience the 3D effect while adjusting your mix.
  • This page shows all individual input channels coming into the KLANG system.
  • Adjust individual channel levels here to start building your mix. Mixes are initially zeroed out.
  • Tap the Faders button again to access channel groups (e.g., Microphones, Drums, Guitars, Keys, Playback, Audience Mics).
  • Once individual levels are set, you can make broader adjustments using these group faders.
  • This page visualizes the 3D placement of sound sources around you.
  • Select individual Groups (like Drums, Guitars, Mics) to see and adjust the position of channels within that group. Viewing all groups at once can be cluttered.
  • Panning Options:
    • Stereo: Left/Right.
    • 3D: Forward/Backward, plus wider Left/Right spacing.
  • Default Positions:
    • Drums: Toms and Overheads are panned; Kick and Snare are centered.
    • Guitars: Panned Left and Right.
    • Bass: Centered. Keeping low-end centered helps avoid feeling unbalanced.
    • Keys: Panned Left and Right (Stereo).
    • Tracks: Panned.
    • Audience Mics: Panned.
  • Adjusting Placement: You can move elements like lead vocals forward or backward, or further left/right in the 3D space. Guitars and Keys can be pushed forward/backward or kept in a standard stereo pan.
  1. Go to the Faders page.
  2. Start bringing up essential channels one by one (e.g., start with Keys, add Bass, Guitars, Click, MD Mic, Vocals, Drums).
  3. Adjust levels for a basic balance.
  4. Go to the Stage page.
  5. Select groups (e.g., Mics) and adjust the spatial position if needed. Experiment with moving elements forward/backward.
